Knorr-Bremse launches new plant in Jinpu

On June 25, the Knorr-Bremse CVS (commercial vehicle systems) Dalian New Plant, with a total investment of 250 million yuan ($34.4 million), was completed and put into operation. This event also marked the 20th anniversary of Knorr-Bremse CVS’ localized production in China.

The completion of the new plant in Dalian demonstrates that Knorr-Bremse CVS China has made new progress in advanced manufacturing, green environmental protection, and technological innovation. This development will also inject new momentum into the green, intelligent transformation and high-quality development of China's commercial vehicle industry.

Covering an area of 40,000 square meters, the new plant features an 11,000-square-meter advanced manufacturing workshop, a 7,000-square-meter intelligent warehouse, and a 3,000-square-meter technology research and development center, enabling large-scale and high-quality production.

In 2004, Knorr-Bremse AG established its first joint venture in Jinpu New Area, Hasse & Wrede CVS Dalian, China Ltd. In 2005, it established a wholly-owned subsidiary, Knorr-Bremse Braking Systems for Commercial Vehicles (Dalian) Co Ltd.

With the rapid development of the Chinese market, these two company in Jinpu New Area have made additional investments to purchase land and expand production. They have become an important production base for Knorr-Bremse AG in China.
