On July 4, the Kazakhstan Xi'an Terminal in the Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park was bustling with activity. A China-Europe freight train (Xi'an) loaded with new energy vehicles, photovoltaic components, household appliances, and mechanical equipment, among other Chinese products, set off towards Central Asia.
In February this year, as a significant achievement of the China-Central Asia Summit, the Kazakhstan Xi'an Terminal was officially put into operation. To date, over 40,000 metric tons of goods have been transshipped and distributed there.
Shaanxi and Kazakhstan have seen fruitful results in economic and trade cooperation.
From January to May this year, the value of trade between Shaanxi and Kazakhstan amounted to 649 million yuan ($89.25 million), up by 76.2 percent year-on-year.
Since last year, Xi'an and Kazakhstan have established a number of new passenger flights, making exchanges more convenient.
As trade continues to expand, Shaanxi enterprises are increasing investments in Kazakhstan, particularly in the agricultural sector. By the end of last year, Shaanxi companies had invested a total of 344 billion yuan in Kazakhstan.
Xi'an Aiju Grain and Oil Industry Group are currently building the international grain material processing and logistics center in Kazakhstan. This year, the group plans to invest an additional 50 million yuan to enhance existing projects, add a 100,000-ton flour processing production line, and establish a noodle factory.
