The X387 Silk Road e-commerce freight train, loaded with express e-commerce goods, departed from the Xi'an Guogang Railway Station, heading westward towards Urumqi in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on July 3.

This marked a milestone for China Railway Xi'an Group Co, as it is the 100th trip carried out by the X387 Silk Road e-commerce freight train, which commenced operations on March 26 this year. The train has transported nearly 90,000 metric tons of goods to date and has provided strong support in effectively reducing social logistics costs and ensuring the safe and timely transportation of express e-commerce goods.

The freight train operates in a passenger-like mode, running on a normalized schedule with one train departing daily. Loaded with various e-commerce express parcels, the train departs daily from Xi'an and arrives in Urumqi after a 37-hour journey spanning 2,700 kilometers, reducing the transit time by approximately 5 hours compared to road transportation.

It is estimated that the train has increased transportation efficiency by around 12 percent and helped e-commerce enterprises reduce logistics costs by 10 percent, offering a cost-effective logistics solution for express delivery to Xinjiang not just for Shaanxi but the whole county entering Xinjiang.

Moving forward, China Railway Xi'an Group Co will continue to explore the multimodal transport logistics market, and develop more convenient and efficient freight products to reduce overall social logistics costs, enhance economic operational efficiency, and provide sufficient support for high-quality economic and social development.
