Yantai's ICH items wow Parisians

A special event named "Yantai Intangible Cultural Heritage Day" took place in Paris on June 28 as part of the Salon des Beaux Arts 2024.

This event, commemorating the 60th anniversary of China-French diplomatic relations and the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism, injected fresh vitality into cultural and artistic exchanges between the two nations.

Five captivating cultural treasures from Yantai, East China's Shandong province, including Laizhou straw weaving, Yantai woolen embroidery, Haiyang green tea, Laiyang pear paste, and traditional clockmaking techniques, were presented in digital panoramic displays and interactive VR formats.

In addition to the art exhibition, Yantai's intangible cultural heritage practitioners also brought these arts to iconic French landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre, sparking a wave of Chinese cultural influence in Paris and garnering significant attention from local media and the French public.

The Salon des Beaux Arts, organized by the Société Nationale des Beaux Arts, is a prestigious international exhibition and academic event supported by the French Ministry of Culture. With a history spanning 160 years, it has long served as a crucial platform for global artists to showcase their works and gain international recognition.
