As global business expansion continues, Japan's market potential remains a significant draw for international enterprises. On June 21, the "Enter Japan Series: Unveiling Industrial Opportunities in Yokohama" event was successfully held at the Shanghai Hongqiao Overseas Development Service Center.

Organized by the Shanghai and Beijing offices of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), in collaboration with Yokohama's Shanghai Office, the event aimed to help enterprises understand and seize business opportunities in Japan. It attracted representatives from leading companies, including Chery Holding and Autobacs.

JETRO is a government agency dedicated to promoting trade and investment between Japan and the global community. It provides market information and comprehensive support services to investors and companies thinking of expanding into Japan.

Daosuke Takamura, deputy director of JETRO Shanghai, highlighted JETRO's 40-year effort in promoting Sino-Japanese trade and investment. He also expressed hopes for more Chinese enterprises to enter the Japanese market through JETRO.

Zhang Peiye, manager of JETRO Shanghai, detailed Japan's investment appeal, including it having the fourth-largest GDP in the world. Jin Jinghao, director of JETRO Beijing, shared business opportunities for Chinese tech companies in Japan, identifying six key areas: industrial AI, unmanned logistics, AI in education, assisted care, virtual humans, and environmental protection.

Chief Representative Masafumi Urui of Yokohama's Shanghai Office highlighted Yokohama's business environment advantages, including talent and enterprise concentration, developed industries, a thriving economy, and the future potential of Yokohama Port. Yokohama aims to become a leading green city in Asia by 2050.

Li Jiannong, chief representative of the Japan-China Science and Technology Cultural Center, announced plans for more "Enter Japan Series" events to support the global development of Chinese enterprises.

Participants of this event left with a deeper understanding of Japan's market, business culture, and investment environment. The event bolstered confidence in the Japanese market, sparked ideas of collaborations, and helped establish valuable international connections. It also showcased the proactive role of the Shanghai Hongqiao Overseas Development Service Center in facilitating international business cooperation. The ongoing impact of this event is expected to foster more business collaborations and cultural exchanges.
