Xiamen Port recently established a sister port relationship with the Port of Long Beach in the United States (USA). Both parties will engage in long-term and stable exchanges and cooperation in various areas, such as trade development, infrastructure development, environmental protection, and smart technology, promoting mutual prosperity and development.

With this addition, Xiamen Port now has a total of 18 international sister ports.

It is reported that the Port of Long Beach is the second busiest container port in the USA, with 175 shipping routes connecting 217 ports worldwide, boasting a strategic geographical location.

In 2023, out of the 17 US container liner routes operated by Xiamen Port, two routes call at the Port of Long Beach, with an annual container throughput of 158,600 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 46.37 percent. Both parties believe that this lays a more solid foundation for the comprehensive deepening of cooperation between the two ports.

Following the establishment of the sister port relationship, both parties will delve deeper into market demands, actively develop more container routes, and improve their cargo handling and trade practices to build a more resilient supply chain.

They will also continuously strengthen the port's crucial role in economic and trade cooperation, jointly promote the sharing of information, and foster the development of the freight, logistics, and related industries.
