The Baotou Public Transport Group launched the "Pet Bus" on June 20 to foster the harmonious coexistence between people and nature and to make it easier for pet owners to use urban public transportation.

The fare is 35 yuan ($4.82) per person for a round trip, which includes one person and one pet, with no seats for dogs or cats. An additional 10 yuan is charged for each extra passenger or pet. Passengers without pets who wish to experience the bus can purchase a non-pet ticket for 10 yuan per person.

The bus service will operate if there are more than seven reservations. If fewer than seven reservations are made, the service will be canceled by 5:00 pm the day before, and ticket fares will be refunded.

Before boarding, pet owners must show the driver proof that their pet has been vaccinated to ensure the health of their pets and others. Dogs must wear leashes and muzzles while on the bus and be supervised by their owners at all times. Cats must be placed in cat carriers.

The bus is equipped with professional pet disinfection and deworming facilities, and there are bags available for placing poop inside, ensuring the safety and comfort of the pets.
