On June 18, at the 2024 Artificial Intelligence Publishing Integration Development Seminar, Wuhan Polytechnic Digital Communication Group Co (DCG), a company based in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC), released the BOOKSGPT large model.
Just two days earlier, the company was selected by the Great Wall Enterprise Institute (GEI) for the first time as a 2023 China Unicorn Enterprise.
"The publishing industry has encountered its own set of opportunities in the AI era, creating useful products and production methods in topic planning, content creation, content review, distribution marketing, and reader services," said Shi Qiming, executive vice president of DCG.
BOOKSGPT is both a large model and a new-generation AI solution for publishing integration, covering over 30 publishing scenarios and more than 20 book scenarios, including multi-type document parsing, multi-modal understanding and generation, multi-round intelligent dialogue with agents, intelligent creation, text review and knowledge-based proofreading.

At the event, DCG released two products based on BOOKSGPT – "AI Editing Studio" and "RAYS Version 7.0". "Since last September, we have created more than 10 AI editors using BOOKSGPT. These AI editors, like real people, participate in various production stages of the publishing house, improving quality, reducing costs, and increasing efficiency," Shi explained.
