WND businesses expand global footprint

Companies from Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, which is also known as Wuxi New District, are increasingly making their presence felt on the international stage.

According to the district's commerce bureau, direct outbound investment from WND exceeded $100 million in the first quarter of this year and reached $140 million by May. To date, over 130 WND enterprises have invested in more than 200 overseas projects.

Participation in global markets has become a critical growth strategy for many private enterprises. These international ventures mainly span mechanical manufacturing, wholesale trade, software development, and new energy sectors. Investment destinations range from Southeast Asia – particularly in countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative – to Europe and North America.

"Global expansion enhances our company's overall competitiveness and allows us to offer more convenient services to our clients," said a representative from WND-based Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment. The company has established a global service network, including a delivery center in Germany, a commissioning center in Malaysia, and a European logistics hub.

Lead Intelligent Equipment now boasts over 20,000 employees worldwide and operates 15 subsidiaries, with products exported to more than 20 countries, including the United States, Germany, France, and Sweden.

WND enterprises are not only exporting products but also building industrial chains, supply chains, and research and development (R&D) centers overseas. Chison Medical Technologies, for instance, began setting up overseas R&D institutions a decade ago and opened a new R&D center in Singapore last year in collaboration with local universities.

With support from these R&D centers, Chison has launched numerous cutting-edge products which have gained significant attention at major exhibitions.
