The MAX Science Park in the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District was recently awarded the prestigious LEED Gold certification, a globally recognized symbol of sustainability and environmental excellence.

LEED, as the most widely used green building and urban certification system globally, evaluates buildings based on criteria such as site selection and transportation, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, and innovative design.

Utilizing smart technologies and sustainable materials, the park minimizes its environmental impact and promotes energy efficiency. Its construction prioritized green principles, incorporating permeable paving for rainwater infiltration. With over 35 percent green space and eco-friendly technologies, the park aims to combat the urban heat island effect and reduce energy consumption.

Amid global concerns over the carbon footprints of buildings, the park's LEED Gold status reflects a shift towards greener architectural practices. By meticulously designing more green and energy-efficient high-end commercial buildings, the park aims to provide people with healthy, adaptable, and efficient urban spaces.

The MAX Science Park, which opened in 2023, aims to attract prominent players in the smart healthcare, artificial intelligence, and exhibition economies. By harnessing the benefits of green building resources, it is committed to elevating operational excellence and catering to the unique requirements of resident enterprises with more personalized strategies.
