Researchers have retrieved a collection of 928 pieces of underwater cultural relics in a series of archaeological investigations commencing in May 2023 on two ancient shipwrecks in the South China Sea. These efforts involved three stages of exploration at a depth of 1,500 meters and 63 dives, according to the National Cultural Heritage Administration.
The third stage of exploration, completed in May and June 2024, unveiled new vessel types. Blue and white glaze vases and bowls with a red dragon pattern were among them.
