The Songhua River came alive with the rhythmic beat of drums and the splash of paddles as Harbin hosted its 28th Dragon Boat Race for Workers on June 10.

Organized by the Harbin Federation of Trade Unions, the event attracted the participation of 15 teams from prominent enterprises and institutions, including Northeast Light Alloy Co, Harbin Electric Machinery Co and Harbin Institute of Technology.

It showcased not only the competitive spirit but also the unity and teamwork of the participating organizations.

The racecourse, stretching 2,000 meters, is the longest natural watercourse in the country. It begins at Laotou Bay on the Songhua River and ends at the iconic Songhua River Flood Control Memorial Tower, providing a challenging and picturesque setting for the race.

Before the main event, spectators were treated to a vibrant water show featuring rowing and sailing demonstrations. The performers, hailing from various sectors across the city, showcased their skills and further enlivened the day's festive atmosphere.

This annual event not only celebrates the Dragon Boat Festival but also highlights the camaraderie and athletic prowess of Harbin's workforce, making it a much-anticipated tradition on the city's cultural calendar.
