Conference boosts Shaanxi-South Korea links in auto sector

The 2024 China (Shaanxi)-South Korea Automotive Industry Cooperation and Exchange Conference was held in Xi'an – capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province – on May 30.

The event was hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Xi'an and the Busan Small and Medium Business Administration.

Focusing on auto parts manufacturing, the conference aimed to provide a platform for communications between producers from Shaanxi and South Korea – further expanding cooperation avenues, seeking collaborative opportunities and jointly striving to write a new chapter in the high-quality development of the automotive industry.

During proceedings, representatives from 15 leading auto parts companies from South Korea and Shaanxi swapped views and discussed their vision for cooperation.

In a one-on-one exchange session, over 40 automotive parts manufacturing companies from Shaanxi engaged in in-depth talks with South Korean groups.

The South Korean companies that visited Shaanxi for the exchange mainly came from the electric vehicle bearings, cold-rolled steel sheet coils and radiator manufacturing sectors – as well as the braking systems, internal combustion engines, automotive motors and automobiles functional fabrics industries, among others.

During their stay in Shaanxi, the South Korean delegation of auto parts companies also visited Chinese car manufacturer Geely's production base in Xi'an and Shaanxi Automobile Holdings Group Co.
