The Hongqiao Overseas Development Service Center recently hosted a policy briefing session on the APEC Business Travel Card on May 22, aimed at helping entrepreneurs and business professionals better understand and utilize its benefits.
The event attracted representatives from over 20 companies, including leading Chinese home furnishing giant Red Star Macalline and top solar energy company JinkoSolar.
The APEC Business Travel Card, a travel document introduced by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), is designed to streamline business travel across the Asia-Pacific region. Cardholders can enjoy expedited customs clearance and other conveniences.
Officials from the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai municipal government, the Hongqiao International Central Business District Administrative Committee and the Hongqiao Border Inspection Station provided a detailed introduction of the card, including the application process, validity period, handling of special circumstances, and considerations for foreign employees entering China.
At the event, attendees engaged in interactive discussions to seek advice on application success, reissuing procedures, and compliant card usage for smooth travel.
The Hongqiao International Central Business District has set up a specialized APEC Business Travel Card processing window as part of its efforts to better serve local companies and enhance connections with global markets.
Looking ahead, the Hongqiao Overseas Development Service Center remains committed to supporting businesses in their international endeavors, and is anticipating the positive impact these cards will have on trade and investment flows in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
