The Sanya Cultural Center in Jiyang district, comprising the Sanya Museum and the Sanya Comprehensive Archive, is scheduled to finish construction by the end of October.

The Sanya Museum spans a land area of 23,014 square meters with a construction area of 48,877 sq m. It stands at a height of 29.5 meters, featuring five above-ground floors and one underground floor. The facility includes exhibition, education, service, collection storage, collection technology, business, and research areas.

"The design concept of the Sanya Museum draws inspiration from the Sanya River, with the exhibition halls resembling pearls scattered along the river to harmonize with Sanya's environment and natural elements. The roof is uniquely shaped like a tall rice ear supporting a large piece of Li brocade, symbolizing Yuan Longping's seed breeding contributions in Hainan province and Huang Daopo's Li brocade technique," said Wang Dishi, the project's technical director.

The Comprehensive Archives spans a land area of 22,944 sq m with a floorage of 47,495 sq m. It stands at a height of 36.4 meters, comprising six above-ground floors and one underground floor. Functional rooms include archive storerooms, external service rooms, archival work rooms, technical rooms, and office spaces. Wang added that the design elements of the Sanya Comprehensive Archive draw inspiration from sea waves and rocks.

This design approach and functional layout highlight the characteristics of an international tourism consumption center, fostering the integrated development of culture and tourism while exploring new ways for the growth of a consumption-based economy.
