Tianheng and Dingzi bays in Jimo district, Qingdao, Shandong are currently the main sea cucumber seedling breeding and aquaculture bases in northern China. Their unique geographical conditions and industrial advantages have created a highly attractive brand for sea cucumbers in Jimo.

Jimo district has established a complete industrial chain integrating the breeding, aquaculture, processing, distribution, and sale of sea cucumbers, and local sea cucumber aquaculture has become one of the important industries for increasing the incomes of fishermen in the district.

Since May, more than 30,000 mu (2,000 hectares) of sea cucumber seedlings in Jimo have entered harvest season, with the highest yield reaching 150 kilograms per mu. Sixty percent of the sea cucumber seedlings bred and raised here are sold to places like Dalian in Liaoning.

Thanks to the local government's continuous support, the local sea cucumber industry in Qingdao has seen strong development in recent years.
