At a recent expo in Russia, visitors had the chance to explore the scenic beauty of Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province, from 7,000 kilometers away, simply by scanning a QR code with their smartphones.

At the 2024 Ningbo (Russia) Home Goods Expo, Dmitry Liabinin, founder and president of Vaxter Five, was captivated by the stunning city posters at Ningbo's booth. Using his phone, he scanned the QR code on the poster, instantly immersing himself in the rich cultural and natural beauty of the coastal city.

Liabinin was delighted by the picturesque images of Dongqian Lake and Siming Mountain, showcasing Ningbo's blend of natural splendor and rich cultural heritage. He was particularly intrigued by the historical Tianyi Pavilion and the bustling Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, the world's largest in terms of cargo throughput. Excited by these discoveries, he eagerly sought more information from the booth staff.

The expo, the largest Ningbo has held abroad in recent years, featured nearly 100 Ningbo companies and around 20,000 products. It aimed to promote Ningbo's rich heritage and modern achievements to a broader international audience.

Ningbo's booth featured large promotional posters with QR codes, allowing visitors to access detailed, bilingual information on the city's culture, industry, and scenic spots. Many foreign attendees scanned the codes and took virtual tours, enjoying Ningbo's mountains, lakes, colorful architecture, and cultural treasures.
