Taizhou resident Luan Deming and his wife visited a special new "waiter" service table at the Taizhou government service hall on April 18, seeking guidance on their restaurant's online application to sell crayfish.

The couple went there because they were unable to complete the online registration for their restaurant, located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province.

Hong Jiawen, a "waiter" at the service table, assisted them by recovering their account password and accessing the registration platform.

The applications issue was due to the restaurant not meeting the requirements for serving cold dishes, which need a special area with specific facilities. Hong explained the policy, helped adjust the operating scope and successfully submitted the application.

Luan Deming expressed his appreciation of the comprehensive assistance. "He did all the work for us — filling out forms, uploading documents – and we didn't have to worry about anything," Luan said.

This year, with the implementation of the timeout default approvals system – where applications are automatically approved if not processed within the promised time frame – the waiter service has been extended to small businesses. The Taizhou administrative approval bureau aims to provide professional services, organizing training to improve service levels.

To date, the waiter service has piloted 87 high-frequency one-stop services, offering consultations and assistance over 340 times.
