Luckyford Testing Technology, located in the Wuxi New District Comprehensive Bonded Zone, has successfully exported a batch of repaired hard drives worth 480,000 yuan ($66,321) directly to Vietnam. This marks the first such export from a comprehensive bonded zone in Jiangsu province.

Previously, goods entering the bonded zone for repair had to be returned to their original locations before being exported. Luckyford highlighted that direct exports will reduce logistics costs by 15 percent, facilitating its expansion into new emerging markets. In the first quarter of this year alone, the company repaired approximately 230,000 hard drives, a 35 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

The bonded zone has implemented a series of initiatives to promote industrial development, provide comprehensive services, and enforce supportive policies, resulting in steady growth for key enterprises. In 2023, Luckyford reported a 29.84 percent year-on-year increase in the foreign trade value of high-end data storage products. Similarly, Jabil Circuit saw a slight increase in the value of wireless communication base stations and cloud computing equipment repairs.

WND plans to enhance collaboration with customs, commerce, and environmental departments to expedite the development of a globally competitive testing and repair center. The aim is to create a public service platform for bonded repair and testing, providing professional and comprehensive services for enterprises in the district and citywide, and advancing the sector towards high-end equipment bonded remanufacturing.
