Shanxi's TCM departments make national list

A total of 15 specialty departments from seven hospitals in North China's Shanxi province were selected to be included in the national list of excellent traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) departments, according to the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Among the included departments are those from Taiyuan city, such as Shanxi Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital's cardiovascular, gastroenterology, pulmonary, nephrology, endocrinology, oncology, and clinical medicine departments; the Affiliated Hospital of Shanxi University of Chinese Medicine's cardiovascular, gastroenterology, neurology, anorectal, preventive medicine, and nursing departments; Shanxi Provincial Integrated TCM and WM Hospital's nephrology, geriatrics, and intensive care medicine departments; and Shanxi Acupuncture Hospital's neurology, acupuncture, and rehabilitation departments.

The list also includes the neurology department at Jinzhong Hospital of Chinese Medicine, the neurology department at the Affiliated Hospital of the Changzhi Institute of TCM, and the anorectal department at Changzhi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The selection of excellent national TCM departments aims to further advance the establishment of a high-quality and efficient TCM service system. The identification of these departments will help to enhance the clinical medical level of TCM hospitals, and promote the expansion and balanced layout of high-quality TCM medical resources.
