Since its entry into the market, the AITO M9 has enjoyed soaring sales, with its total sales now surpassing 70,000 units. Meanwhile, SERES's super factory currently boasts a monthly delivery capability of 25,000 units.

In the first quarter of this year, Liangjiang New Area saw a year-on-year increase of 66.2 percent in new energy vehicle (NEV) output value and 24.9 percent in NEV production volume. The robust growth data reflects the positive results of the transformation and upgrading of the automotive industry in the new area.

In the first quarter of this year, Changan Auto's NEV sales reached 128,800 units, a 52-percent year-on-year surge, with eight new NEV production models to be released this year. Changan Auto's R&D expenses in 2023 reached 9 billion yuan ($1.27 billion), with 5,739 new patents added throughout the year, up 16.9 percent.

Currently, Liangjiang has gathered more than 50 international research and development platforms, with new quality productive forces taking shape. In 2023, SERES's public patent volume grew by 407.76 percent year-on-year, ranking first among independent vehicle groups.

According to the plan, by 2024, the automotive industry in the new area is expected to expand its scale to 200 billion yuan, with total vehicle production to exceed 1.2 million units, including over 500,000 NEVs.
