A series of new policies rolled out by the National Immigration Administration to streamline entry and exit procedures were put into effect on May 6, five of which have been implemented in East China's Shandong province to increase convenience for local residents.

Residents aged 16 and above in the cities of Jinan and Qingdao can apply for the renewal or replacement of passports, exit-entry permits for travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao, and mainland travel permits for Taiwan residents through the National Immigration Administration's online platform, eliminating the need for in-person visits.

For individuals applying for business endorsements to Hong Kong and Macao, a new intelligent expedited handling system has been introduced to allow applicants to submit their requests at any public security office in the province. Those applying for multiple business endorsements can utilize smart endorsement devices for instant processing.

The duration of stay for individuals holding business endorsements for Hong Kong and Macao will be extended from seven to 14 days.

Another significant change is the issuance of a one-year multiple-entry "Other" category endorsement for individuals traveling to Macao from Shandong for exhibitions, medical treatment, or entertainment purposes.

Residents of Shandong joining the Hengqin-Macao multiple-round-trip tour group will be permitted to make multiple trips between Macao and Shandong within seven days through the "group in, group out" approach at the Hengqin Port.
