Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding's No 2 Dock recently celebrated the launch of its 100th batch of ships with the undocking of the H1568 vessel, its seventh 7,000-TEU containers ship built for Canada-based Seaspan Corp. This reaffirms the company's leading position in the construction of medium container ships.

Despite facing challenges, the H1568 construction project team set a new record for the shortest period of 66 days. The launch of this vessel demonstrated significant progress in the company’s construction efficiency and quality.

The No 2 Dock, which has witnessed over two decades of high-quality development under the administration of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, has undergone two extensions in order to adapt to evolving production demands, making it the longest dock in Asia.

To date, the No 2 Dock has witnessed the launch of 111 different types of vessels, including FPSOs, self-elevating drilling platforms, medium-sized container ships, large container ships, bulk carriers, ultra-large ore carriers, finished oil tankers, crude oil tankers, and large cruise ships.
