The unveiling ceremony for the Unicomp Advanced Inspection Applied Technology Research Institute was held on April 9 in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, also known as Wuxi New District, in Wuxi, Jiangsu.
This institute was launched by Wuxi Unicomp Technology, which is a leading supplier of X-ray detection equipment. It will serve as a research platform focusing on the development and commercialization of advanced intelligent detection application technologies.
Through close collaboration with universities, research institutes, and business associations, the institute aims to achieve breakthroughs in key components like magnetic control tubes, radio frequency vacuum tubes, and photomultiplier tubes and participate in setting international and industrial standards.

During the event, Professor Shi Yi from Nanjing University was appointed chief scientist of the institute, while three experts, including Han Li, director of the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, were appointed as consultants.
The Southeast University – Unicomp X-ray Detection Technology Joint R&D Center and the Wuxi Industrial X-ray Detection Technology Key Laboratory were also unveiled on the same day.
Furthermore, Unicomp signed agreements with the Wuxi Industrial Innovation Research Institute, Wuxi University, Wuxi Vocational College of Science and Technology, and two companies to jointly establish the Wuxi High-end Intelligent Inspection Equipment Innovation Consortium, aiming to further expand and strengthen the industry in China.
