A culture and tourism promotion event for Northwest China's Shaanxi province took place in Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia, on March 26.

Themed "Understanding China through Shaanxi", the promotion featured presentations by Shaanxi tourism ambassadors and representatives from travel agencies, who introduced Shaanxi's tourism resources, products, and distinctive travel routes.

Attendees were captivated by the grandeur of the Terracotta Warriors, Huaqing Palace, Hukou Waterfall, and the fashionable Grand Tang Mall and the Longest Day in Chang'an.

Additionally, the event featured provincial intangible cultural heritage performances, such as Hanyang string puppetry, a Qin Opera show, and splendid shadow puppetry. These earned rounds of applause from the audience.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia.

Malaysia is an important destination for outbound tourism from Shaanxi. It is also a significant Southeast Asian tourist source for Shaanxi. With the implementation of mutual visa exemption policies, the opening of direct flights between Xi'an and Kuala Lumpur, and the establishment of the Malaysian Consulate General in Xi'an, tourism cooperation between Shaanxi and Malaysia is poised to enter a new stage of development.
