A business promotion conference for the upcoming Shanghai East Railway Station was held at the Lujiazui International Accounting Center in Pudong New Area on March 25.

The event drew the participation of 30 top-tier commercial real estate development firms, industrial and commercial consulting organizations, as well as law firms from both domestic and international spheres.

Upon its completion, the Shanghai East Railway Station is poised to become a comprehensive transportation hub, integrating national and regional railways, urban rails, and airport rapid transit. Notably, it will be seamlessly linked to the Shanghai Pudong International Airport through a variety of transportation options, promising to elevate the overall passenger experience.

Meanwhile, the station forms an essential component of the Eastern Hub project, which also includes a 0.88-square-kilometer international business cooperation zone.

During the conference, Shi Feizhou, vice-president of Eastern Hub, a State-owned enterprise responsible for the planning, construction, and development of the Shanghai East Railway Station, emphasized the strategic objective of positioning the Eastern Hub as an international gateway for the new era of openness.

In pursuit of the goal, Shi outlined plans to enhance the influence of the hub's 7-square-kilometer core area to encompass a surrounding area of 460 square kilometers, thereby establishing it as a crucial nexus for aggregating and distributing high-quality domestic and international resources.

Furthermore, the Eastern Hub is slated to serve as one of the four major international-level consumer circles in Pudong, aligning with the area's aspirations to emerge as a globally recognized consumption hub, as per the local commerce authority's vision.

Cao Lei, deputy director of the commerce commission of Pudong New Area, emphasized, "Through the construction of the Eastern Hub project, it will be possible to create an international-level consumer circle in both the north and south of Pudong, allowing passengers arriving via air and high-speed rail to experience Shanghai's prosperity firsthand."
