Xi'an airport to offer more intl flights

Outbound tourism has experienced a continuous surge in popularity this year. Starting from March 31, the Civil Aviation Administration of China will initiate its summer flight schedule.

Xi'an Xianyang International Airport will increase and resume multiple international and regional flight routes.

Starting from March 31, Air China will increase the frequency of flights from Xi'an to Astana, Kazakhstan, from twice a week to three times a week. Kazakhstan offers visa-free entry for Chinese citizens with a single stay of up to 30 days.

Commencing from March 31, Cathay Pacific will intensify flights from Xi'an to Hong Kong from three times a week to five times a week. On March 6, Xi'an officially became the city where residents can apply for visit endorsements for Hong Kong and Macao for leisure purposes (on an individual basis).

From April 23, China Eastern Airlines will increase the frequency of its flights from Xi'an to Tokyo from once a week to three times a week. This will provide more convenience to passengers traveling between China and Japan for business, education, and family-related purposes.

Beginning from March 30, Busan Air will resume its flights from Xi'an to Busan, South Korea, operating twice a week.

AirAsia will reinstate its flights from Xi'an to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia on April 5, offering three flights per week. Since Dec 1, 2023, China and Malaysia have officially implemented mutual visa exemption, further facilitating travel between the two countries.

Starting from April 27, China Eastern Airlines will reinstate its flights from Xi'an to Moscow, Russia, operating three flights per week. In August 2023, Russia opened electronic visa applications for Chinese tourists. These visas, if approved, have a validity period of 60 days and allow tourists to stay within Russian territory for up to 16 days.
