Shanghai's Waigaoqiao Port completed 138 voyages for foreign trade roll-on/roll-off vessels, exporting 170,200 cars in the first two months of this year, marking a 3 percent increase compared to last year, according to official data.

The port has expanded its facilities to cope with the increasing demand, including constructing a large-scale automated three-dimensional warehouse capable of accommodating 6,160 cars. This upgrade has significantly reduced the damage rate of exported vehicles and eased the pressure on car storage and transportation for exports.

Furthermore, Waigaoqiao Customs has integrated new technologies and smart supervision systems to ensure efficient and precise oversight throughout vehicle entry, exit, transfer, storage, and inspection. These improvements, coupled with convenient customs measures, have streamlined the customs clearance process, ensuring zero-delay release of exported cars and enhancing the competitiveness of domestic vehicles in the international market.
