Loaded with color LCD panels manufactured by TPV Display Technology (Xianyang) Co, the train will arrive in Qingdao Port in two days, and then the goods will be transferred to a sea vessel bound for Manaus.

The entire journey will take less than 50 days.

"This rail-sea intermodal transport model can reduce our original logistics costs by between 60 and 70 percent, significantly narrowing the transportation cost gap with coastal areas," said Zhong Wei, the logistics director of TPV Display Technology (Xianyang) Co.

This transport model not only enhances the overall competitiveness of the company, but also brings benefits to upstream and downstream enterprises in the entire industry, Zhong added.

Zhai Ruopeng, deputy general manager of Xi'an International Inland Port Investment & Development Group, stated that the rail-sea intermodal transport model has further enhanced the international competitiveness of local enterprises. This, in turn, may attract major shipping companies to establish branches in Shaanxi, thus strengthening strategic cooperation between Xi'an Port and coastal ports.
