In the heart of the Kubuqi desert, under the jurisdiction of Ordos city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the construction site of a green power supply project is bustling with activity.

The project has a total investment of 2.71 billion yuan ($371.23 million) and primarily involves the construction of a 500,000-kilowatt photovoltaic power station, incremental distribution networks, a 32-megawatt/128-megawatt-hour electrochemical energy storage system, and a 61-megawatt/4-hour molten salt energy storage system.

This project is expected to be completed and in operation by the end of June 2024.

Currently, 9,300 mu (620 hectares) of land has been leveled, and the project's power supply lines and temporary transformers have been installed.

The project's communication lines and towers have been established, and the system is ready for testing.

Concurrently, plans for ecological treatment and water supply work are underway.

Once operational, this photovoltaic power station is expected to generate an average of 975 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. It will effectively promote green energy utilization.
