Innovations key to development in Hefei high-tech zone

Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone has emerged as a place of innovation and progress, as highlighted in the government's 2024 report. Covering a mere 1.1 percent of the city's area, this zone contributes a substantial 15 percent to Hefei's GDP, showcasing its economic significance.

In 2023, the zone witnessed groundbreaking achievements in quantum technology, notably the development of the ez-QFridge—a domestically produced dilution refrigerator crucial for superconducting quantum computers—which now meets international standards. With a concentration of over 50 quantum enterprises and 30 related companies, the zone has become a prominent center for quantum science and industry.

Moreover, the rise of low-altitude economy initiatives is notable, with more than 20 enterprises actively engaged in crafting urban aerial transit networks. The city's strategic emphasis extends further to aerospace, boasting nearly 120 aerospace companies forming a robust industrial chain.
