Yantai sets sights on deep sea, marine economy

"We will construct a complete industrial chain that deeply integrates primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, including high-quality seedlings, deep-sea aquaculture, fishery equipment, sophisticated processing, modern logistics, and marine tourism and leisure, to create a model area for the modern development of fisheries," according to Zheng Deyan, mayor of Yantai and deputy to the 14th National People's Congress.

Zheng added that Yantai will also closely integrate the construction of the "Blue Granary" with the establishment of the Changdao International Zero-Carbon Island, creating a new model for the construction of a strong marine province.
