Ningbo has been selected as the host city for the 2025 International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup. The decision was recently finalized during an ISSF executive committee meeting and was subsequently unveiled on the federation's official website.
Regarded as one of the top three shooting competitions globally, alongside the Olympic shooting events and the World Shooting Championships, the ISSF World Cup attracts top-tier talent and enthusiastic spectators from around the world. The 2025 edition is scheduled to take place from Sept 13 to 21, 2025, at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center, located in East China's Zhejiang province.
In a parallel development, Hangzhou, capital city of Zhejiang province, has also secured the right to host the 2026 ISSF World Cup. The 2026 event is set to unfold from Sept 10 to 19 at the Fuyang Yinhu Sports Center.
Ningbo has increasingly emerged as a favored destination for international sporting events in recent years. Earlier this year, the city was designated as the host of the Badminton Asia Championships 2024, scheduled to commence on April 9. This event holds particular significance as it serves as the final leg of the qualification process for Asian badminton players vying for a place in the 2024 Paris Olympics, underscoring the city's growing influence in the realm of sports within the region.
