From Feb 9 to 16, five major business complexes in Liangjiang New Area of Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, reported nearly 200 million yuan ($27.86 million) in sales revenue, as well as over 1 million visits.
During the Spring Festival holiday, these shopping malls lured consumers by collaborating with multiple brands and rolling out discount plans and other favorable shopping policies.
Not only traditional items, such as walnuts, candies and tea, but also a slew of smart, sustainable tech products, including wireless headsets, smart watches and small home appliances, were on residents' holiday shopping list.
Fresh food also experienced sales booms. "During the Spring Festival, our seafood products are always in short supply, and we need the replenishment almost every day," said a staff member from a fresh food store, which procures fresh meat and vegetables directly from the production base, and features the cold-chain services throughout the transport process.
