On Jan 26, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic relations, the Guangzhou Smart City Operations Center hosted a Sino-French friendship story meeting.

Liu Shiwen, the first Olympic table tennis champion from Guangzhou and chair of the ITTF Athletes' Commission, made a surprise appearance as a special guest. She presented a Paris Olympic Games competition ball to the French Consul General in Guangzhou, Sylvain Fourriere.

Come July this year, Paris will host the 33rd Summer Olympic Games, where athletes from Guangzhou and locally manufactured sports equipment are expected to shine. In 2025, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will host the 15th National Games, symbolizing further cooperation and development in sports between Guangzhou and Paris.

Double Fish Sport Group, a subsidiary of Guangzhou Consumer Goods and Services Group, is the exclusive supplier of table tennis balls for the Paris Olympics, showcasing the strength of Guangzhou manufacturing.

Liu is currently actively involved in promoting and developing table tennis. Additionally, Liu is a brand ambassador for Double Fish Sport Group, participating in product development and demonstrating her passion and dedication to the sport.

Fourriere warmly welcomed Liu's visit and looks forward to witnessing more thrilling performances at the Paris Olympics. This event strengthened the friendly relations between China and France in sports and highlighted Guangzhou's influence and prowess as an international sports metropolis.
