To make preparations for the 9th Asian Winter Games, which is scheduled to be held in Harbin, Northeast China's Heilongjiang province in 2025, a medical security training conference was held in the city on Jan 31.

The conference was organized by the executive committee of the 9th Asian Winter Games and the Harbin municipal health commission.

More than 220 medical professionals, including experts from both within and outside the province, deputy hospital directors, heads of medical departments, as well as key medical personnel from emergency, orthopedics, neurosurgery, cardiology, and rehabilitation departments, participated in the conference.

The conference was organized to enhance the medical team's understanding of medical security work for the Asian Winter Games, clarify responsibilities, and integrate medical resources.

The focus was on improving the emergency rescue capabilities and service levels of designated medical teams in ice and snow events. In doing so, these teams will be able to provide outstanding medical services for athletes and guests.

During the conference, Professor Zhou Fang from Peking University Third Hospital delivered a keynote speech on "Treatment of Severe Trauma in Alpine Skiing at the Beijing Winter Olympics," while Professor Yang Zhongwei spoke on the "Winter Olympics Treatment Report at the Chongli Branch of Peking University Third Hospital."

Experts and colleagues also engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on such topics as improving treatment efficiency, optimizing transfer processes, enhancing medical security capabilities for winter events, and meeting the diverse needs of athletes.
