Xiamen introduces new homeport route

The promotional "Poetic Xiamen, Love on the sea" maritime tourism event was held in Xiamen on Jan 29, focusing on the launch of new maritime tourism products in 2024.

It was also announced that the flagship cruise ship Costa Mediterranea of China's leading cruise company will officially commence operations, with Xiamen as its homeport, in March.

As an integral part of Xiamen's maritime tourism, cruises have always been a vital component of the city's harbor integration, showcasing a modern and international image.

TheCosta Mediterraneawill carry out its first series of 15 voyages from Xiamen to Japan from March to May this year.

TheCosta Mediterraneaknown, as the "Ship of Art", can accommodate 2,680 passengers and boasts 1,057 luxurious staterooms and suites. The entire ship is imbued with a rich Mediterranean style and cultural elements and offers a refined experience that combines fine dining, entertainment, and shopping.

In addition to theCosta Mediterranea, three international cruise liners, including theZhao Shang Yi Dun,Blue Dream Melody, andMSC SPLENDIDA, are scheduled to visit Xiamen this year. These magnificent vessels are planning to make an appearance in the latter half of the year.
