Amidst a snowstorm on Jan 16, a spectacular production of "2023 Ice • Fire The Song of Everlasting Sorrow" – China's first large-scale live-action historical dance drama – was staged at Huaqing Palace in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

After the performance, the audience erupted into passionate applause, creating an electric atmosphere.

On Dec 1, 2023, the newly-revamped dance drama, with its frost-covered backdrops and the fiery special effects, transformed the wintry night sky of the Ligong Palace into a visual extravaganza, attracting visitors from across the country.

As of now, the newly-revamped show has staged a total of 177 performances, welcoming over 400,000 visits.

Since its innovative launch in 2021, the "Ice • Fire The Song of Everlasting Sorrow" has leveraged modern technology to achieve breakthroughs in the live entertainment sector in northern China.

With the approach of the Spring Festival, and the continuous increase in visitor traffic, especially among families and student groups, the dance drama has been performed three times at night a day starting from Jan 21.
