NHIZ recognized as provincial demonstration area for IP

The Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (NHIZ) in Jiangsu province was recently honored as the 2023 provincial-level demonstration area for intellectual property construction.

This achievement is a testament to the zone's dedicated efforts in implementing regional intellectual property strategies and emphasizing intellectual property as a fundamental element for regional economic development.

The zone continually enhances its collaborative mechanisms, and is now providing pre-examination services for patent applications. This initiative aims to standardize and elevate the quality of patent applications from enterprises throughout the region and improve pre-examination approval rates and the overall quality of granted patents.

The goal is to ensure a reduction of over 85 percent in the examination and authorization cycle for invention patents.

Additionally, the zone, focusing on over 400 high-tech enterprises, specialized and innovative enterprises, and technology-oriented businesses, has formed dedicated teams to provide one-on-one guidance to these key enterprises.

To encourage local companies to strengthen their intellectual property development, the zone has also promoted intellectual property pledge financing. This approach provides comprehensive support and guidance throughout the entire process of pledge financing for enterprises based on their ability in intellectual property.
