Organizing committee for 9th Asian Winter Games established in Harbin

The inaugural meeting of the Organizing Committee for the 9th Asian Winter Games, scheduled for 2025, took place in Harbin, the capital city of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, on Jan 10.

During the meeting, a comprehensive report on the event's preparations was presented, and the committee deliberated and approved the organizational structure and functional allocation plan for the 9th Asian Winter Games Organizing Committee (Executive Committee), as well as the rules that the committee needs to abide by.

Following the successful hosting of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Asian Winter Games in Harbin will showcase the country's passion for ice and snow, while also adding another major international winter sports event under China's belt.

Harbin previously organized the 3rd Asian Winter Games in February 1996, which marked China's debut as a host country of this intercontinental winter event.
