"Taking the high-speed rail to enjoy the snow" has become a new trend in tourism, with the convenient and fast Harbin-Mudanjiang High-Speed Railway (HSR) in China's northernmost Heilongjiang province acting as a new driving force for the booming ice and snow tourism in Heilongjiang.

Since its opening five years ago, the Harbin-Mudanjiang HSR has transported more than 25 million passengers, with an average of over 13,000 per day.

During the same period, Harbin Railway Station and Mudanjiang Railway Station, which were fully opened in conjunction with the Harbin-Mudanjiang HSR, have transported over 63.88 million and 22.5 million passengers, respectively.

Yabuli West Railway Station witnessed a historical peak with over 3,300 passengers on Dec 24.

In recent years, Harbin Railway Station and Mudanjiang Railway Station have been continuously innovating service concepts, upgrading their infrastructure, and fully implementing electronic tickets and facial recognition systems, allowing passengers to enter the station in just 3 seconds.

Harbin Railway Station is equipped with remote video devices that provide 16 services including information consultation and booking. It also has "smart self-service delivery lockers" to facilitate travel for passengers.

In July, the North Station Building of Mudanjiang Railway Station was opened for use, further facilitating passenger travel.
