Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province clinched the title of "2023 Dynamic City" at the 2023 Dynamic City Conference hosted by China Newsweek in Beijing on Dec 22.

The city was recognized for its industries, population, consumption, environment, culture, and innovation.

Wuxi's industrial dynamism is demonstrated by the recently completed Wuxi International Conference Center, the Culture and Art Center in Dangkou Ancient Town, and more, which have become new city landmarks, and new projects in leading industries, which are stepping up production.

The city was home to 10,651 small and medium-sized tech enterprises and 5,546 high-tech enterprises as of 2022.

A city with people is alive. The latest population census in Wuxi shows that there are nearly 2.17 million people aged 14 to 35 living in the city, accounting for about half of its working force.

In June, Wuxi made the 2023 Forbes China Consumption Vitality City List for the first time, and in the past two years, more than 300 brands have set up their first stores in the city.

Wuxi also benefits from its natural environment. In the first 10 months of this year, the city's PM 2.5 concentration declined 4.9 percent year-on-year to 25.3 micrograms per cubic meter and the number of days with good air quality accounted for 81.9 percent of the total, up 5.9 percent year-on-year.

Centering around Jiangnan culture and the Grand Canal, Wuxi is connecting its culture and natural legacy with modern life while preserving cultural relics.
