Ice and snow playground on Songhua River welcomes global visitors

The 6th Harbin Songhua River Ice and Snow Carnival, known as the "Ice and Snow Playground on the Songhua River," officially opened to tourists on Dec 22.

The carnival is a winter wonderland located on the frozen surface of the Songhua River, with "fun" as its core theme.

Launched in December 2018, the inaugural ice and snow carnival has seen five successful editions. Garnering a record-breaking attendance of over 2 million visitors in a single edition, it has evolved into a beloved ice and snow tourism brand, cherished by both residents and tourists.

This year's carnival covers an expansive total area of 1.4 million square meters with over 40 different interactive ice and snow activities. It aims to showcase the charm and magnificence of the ice and snow on Songhua River.

The event features innovative highlights, offering thrilling experiences ranging from exhilarating snow slides to heart-stopping super ice slides. Visitors can also enjoy activities such as ice skating, snow tubing, snowmobiles, and snow off-road vehicles, adding excitement and variety to the festivities.
