The innovative development of 6G has become a global consensus as the evolution of mobile communications technology is sustained. Zhang Yunming, vice-minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the nation's top industry regulator, delivered a video speech to the conference. For further innovation, integration, and cooperation, 6G requires global consensus, collective thinking, and close collaboration from industries, academia, research, and application, Zhang said.

Information communication is leading global industry development, and 6G will accelerate industry transformation and digitalization, said Zhang Ping, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

A white paper on the 6G network structure was released by IMT-2030 (6G) Promotion Group, a government-affiliated flagship platform for promoting 6G and international cooperation in the country. The white paper states that the 6G era will evoke new businesses and needs, which emerge with higher requirements for the 6G network and drive network evolution.

Another white paper on the design principles and typical features of the 6G wireless system was released at the conference. According to the white paper, 6G will support near real-time information delivery with high precision and accuracy and endorse integral applications with new technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing.

Currently, Liangjiang has gathered the West China branch of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), China Mobile IoT, and other leading industry players and institutes in the communication sector. As a significant platform for Chongqing to develop intelligent connected NEV, smart manufacturing, digital economy, aerospace, and a new generation of electronic information manufacturing, Liangjiang provides enriched application scenarios for technology innovation and industry development.

With 6G technology, the image processing time of intelligent vision will be significantly shortened, and data transfer rates will be substantially improved, which will facilitate the company to compete in the global market, according to Wang Jianli, chief scientist of Chongqing THESEUS Information Technology Co. The company provides intelligent-vision-based inspection services to industrial products and has made a footprint in some Belt and Road countries.

In the future, 6G will extend to a global broad space-air-ground service scope, said Zhang Yan, head of the West China branch of CAICT. According to him, Liangjiang is cultivating the satellite internet sector, a critical approach to a 6G space-air-ground integral network. Key 6G technologies, including computing-network integration and data trusts as a service, coordinate with primary sectors that Liangjiang places efforts on, including artificial intelligent computing, connected computing, and integrated application of data, Zhang added.
