Where to read books in Wuxi

The 16th Taihu Reading Month activity recently kicked off in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province. But in addition to libraries, where else is it possible to read books in the city?

Since 2022, local authorities have built 103 Zhong Reading Yards, giving a boost to local residents' enthusiasm for reading. Here are some of the Zhong Reading Yards.

Zhong Reading Yard at Bell Tower Library

The reading place sets up an exhibition to showcase books related to the culture of Wuxi as well as works by writers born in Wuxi, serving as a window for people to learn about the city.

Opening hours: 9 am to 5 pm on Wednesdays and Sundays

Yingyue Study

Yingyue Study integrates the visitor center at Cuiping Mountain Resort, Zhong Reading Yard, and Pan Art Museum, creating a cultural space for locals to enjoy reading and the beauty of art.

Study Room – Zhong Reading Yard

Located within the Study Center of Yan'an Spirit in Wuxi, the Zhong Reading Yard features simple bookshelves and desks and collects more than 12,000 books, allowing visitors to have a little serene time.

Yuntai Bookhouse

With books filling the walls of Yuntai Bookhouse, the bookhouse creates the atmosphere of a maze. Following the concept of leaving a lamp for reading on at night, Yuntai also offers catering, entertainment, and shopping services.
