Guilin city, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, announced in a press conference on Nov 28 that it has achieved great progress in transforming into a zero-waste city.

Guilin is accelerating this transformation by promoting green development through its industries and general lifestyle. Its goal is to achieve green and sustainable development.

Guilin has formulated eight main tasks to address current issues, such as solid waste disposal, pollution, and household waste sorting.

The city's current achievements include the completion of an ecological protection and restoration project that covers 13,600 hectares of the Lijiang River basin, the implementation of green projects in enterprises and parks, and the construction and operation of several waste incineration projects.

Additionally, Guilin has been promoting a zero-waste project, which includes zero-waste factories and zero-waste tourist attractions. Plans are for the city to cultivate 100 zero-waste factories, tourist attractions, and schools by 2025.
