Yantai, a coastal city in Shandong province, showcased its exquisite delicacies at the "Friendly Shandong, Remarkable Shandong" 2023 Beijing Presenting Event, which kicked off at the Beijing Exhibition Center on Nov 10 and will run until Nov 12.

One of the highlights of Yantai's offerings is its renowned Yantai wine. Yantai is recognized as the birthplace of China's wine industry, with Changyu Wine Company, the country's first industrialized winery, being founded in Yantai in 1892. As an exhibitor, Changyu will showcase two special wines from the Yantai region.

Another Yantai delicacy being presented is Spanish mackerel dumplings. Mackerel dumplings are a Yantai specialty. At the event, visitors will have the chance to see the dumplings being made first-hand.

Additionally, the event featured the exhibition and sale of six prefabricated dishes, including pepper crispy pork and shredded radish meatballs.

Yantai, known as one of the five famous cities of Chinese food, has a thriving prefabricated food industry. Leading enterprises such as Shinho and LongDa have developed a wide range of prepared food products, offering over 400 varieties.

Moreover, Yantai's Fushan, renowned as the hometown of Shandong cuisine, is presenting its famous Fushan roast chicken, a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage item. The distinctive Fushan Zhoulang roast chicken has garnered international recognition.
