Guiyang and Guian develop carbon-reduction project

In recent years, Guiyang City and Guian New Area have embraced an eco-centric, green development philosophy, paving the way for a path of civilized development that prioritizes production growth, prosperity in living standards, and a thriving ecological environment.

The first phase of the production and manufacturing base for new energy power and energy storage batteries by CATL (Guizhou) commenced operations in Guian New Area on Oct 27.

Utilizing clean energy sources like solar and wind power to supply electricity for the factory, this base employs an intelligent energy storage system to balance supply and demand, achieving zero carbon emissions.

This project is just a glimpse into Guiyang and Guian's broader efforts to reduce the energy consumption of regional GDP.

To drive this down, Guiyang and Guian issued the Guiyang and Guian Comprehensive Work Plan for Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), comprehensively advancing the synergies between energy conservation, emission reduction, carbon reduction, and enhanced production capacity.
