Guangzhou High-Tech Zone recognized on national bio-pharmaceutical index

The Guangzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone secured a place on the "China Bio-pharmaceutical Industry Development Index CBIB2023" list, according to the recent Chinese Society of Biotechnology annual conference in Beijing.

Both the high-tech zone and the Guangzhou Economic & Technological Development Zone have been designated as key high-tech and economic development areas, while the Guangzhou International Bio Island and the Guangzhou Science City have been selected as key industrial parks. 

The result signifies national acknowledgment of Guangzhou High-Tech Zone's vibrant growth and competitive edge in the biopharmaceutical sector.

As a strategic pillar of Huangpu district, the high-tech zone now hosts over 4,000 renowned domestic and international bio-pharmaceutical and health enterprises, with total revenue exceeding 210 billion yuan ($28.84 billion). The zone has not only been rated as the best bio-pharmaceutical park in China but also maintains a leading position in the country's bio-pharmaceutical industry.

In terms of policy support and innovative research and development, the high-tech zone has introduced a series of industrial policies to promote high-quality growth of the biopharmaceutical industry, aiming to build a world-class industrial cluster and inject new vitality into regional economic growth.
