Chen Zhenchang, a Taiwanese businessman, has been engaging in the orchid industry in Donglan for several years, helping boost Donglan's orchid industry.

As a seasoned orchid enthusiast, Chen has spent decades cultivating and caring for orchids. After retiring in 2003, he left Taiwan and came to the mainland to explore the orchid market.

Chen has since contributed to the development of the orchid industry in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, and Kunshan, Jiangsu province.

Several years ago, Chen came to Donglan and collaborated with a local orchid company, becoming the technical director of Donglan Junlan Agricultural Technology.

Chen believes that many places in Guangxi have beautiful ecologies, good water quality, and clean air, making them ideal for orchid cultivation.

Currently, orchids are cultivated in the Donglan orchid base, and they are then transported to Kunshan for trimming before being distributed nationwide.

He explained that, orchid seedlings need temperatures between 28 to 30 C to ensure healthy growth. In Jiangsu, orchids require air conditioning for approximately six months, while in Guangxi, heating is only needed for two to three months, making the costs lower.

With Chen's guidance, the Donglan base cultivates and sells over 30 different orchid varieties. Apart from selling these orchids in major cities in China, they also export to ASEAN countries.

At the 20th China-ASEAN Expo held in September, Donglan Junlan Agricultural Technology once again secured orders for orchids from ASEAN countries, further expanding its international reach.
